In this episode, we're talking about learning like you're a newbie. I've been in sales, marketing, business and branding for over 20 years, I've had my business for over 8, I've had my podcast for over 5 years now and I'm a big believer in having a simple business.
I shared this with a client the other day that I believe in simple business - that doesn't mean it's easy but you can keep it simple by focusing on the key things that matter.
So whilst I'm focusing on the simple business buckets that I talk about and teach in BBA, I'm always looking at how I can get better at those things.
You think you've nailed your copy, content and marketing the Chat GPT comes along.
You think that you're growing on Instagram then reels come along.
You think you'll never get on TikTok then you realise that actually, that's a great way to grow a new audience.
So even though you might be highly qualified and experienced, not having a big head about it and always being willing to learn new things is so important in business - because if you don't have that mindset then you can really miss out on evolving as a business owner as well as a business.
Looking at the basics with fresh eyes - Next-level Lead Magnets
Starting with the basics and then going from there - obviously when we start our business, one of the first things that we're told to do is create a lead magnet. But if you've been in business for a while, like me, you'll know that having a lead magnet that actually did well was a lot easier a few years ago.
Nowadays every woman, man and child has a lead magnet, so the question is, how do you make yours stand out?
Firstly you have to see if you're lead magnet is actually working and what I mean by working is -
Does it attract the type of clients you actually want to work with?
Is it helping you grow your list?
Is it helping you convert leads to paying clients?
So measuring it, helps.
If you're looking to create a next-level lead magnet then there are a few things to think about.
Firstly what stage and level are your clients at right now in 2023?
What is their biggest problem?
Does your lead magnet actually speak to them and does it solve their problem?
If you've shifted your brand position (which is what we talked about last week) then you may need to update your lead magent as well.
So do an audit. - How good is your lead magnet and what are the stats around it?
2. Targeting audience growth & Marketing
Right now I'm looking to grow the podcast. We have about five and a half thousand downloads a month but I want to rank higher, I want to grow the audience, and I want to make the podcast one that is known.
Now I've had the podcast for 5 years but do you want to know what I searched on Youtube the other day? How to grow a podcast. Do I know how to grow a podcast - sure - but what if I learnt something new from someone else? What if out of the 10 things they share there are 2 things that I'm not doing that I could do?
Now if you're finding that yes you have a lead magnet but no it's not helping you build your leads or your list, the other thing is that so many people say to me, I have a lead magnet but no one really downloads it. When I ask how often they market it, the answer is - I don't or I did when I first had it but I don't know.
3. Building a brand in new spaces
Think about your product and service evolution, do you need to reach new audiences, do you need to build a brand with new clients?
I think one of my biggest self-sabotages is that I got comfortable - too comfortable and stopped focusing on building my brand with new audiences. I was so busy with current clients (which was great) but I had the rollercoaster dip which was a real problem. If you keep building your brand consistently then you're always attracting new people in. Now you can put that on autopilot with things like ads and evergreen funnels but that costs money, so always looking at how you're building your brand and continuing to look at the market and what you're doing with fresh eyes is so important.
4. New messaging
What does my message need to be now? It's not about changing what you want to be known for, it's about looking at how you're communicating what you do and how you do it. Looking at things with fresh eyes will help you bring your message out more.

Today on the podcast I'm talking about getting creative to generate more business.
Let's talk about getting creative with your offers and just think differently.
The market will always be changing and evolving and you have to do the same. What does the market look like right now, how does my business look right now, and what can I do that brings those two together in a better way?
Keep speaking to your customers and see what they are focused on right now. It may not mean that you're changing your offers up it might mean that you need to talk about them in a different way and target different pain points.
Create versions of your offers and test those out, bundle, add bonuses or value adds. I tested out the 90-day Amplify Mini-mind which attracted more 1 on 1 client, so that was interesting to see.
Start thinking about and planning your End of Financial year offers
Play with different strategies - go back to your email list and send personal messages - I picked up 2 new clients in the last few weeks doing that.
What else could you test - we're looking at collaborations and podcast series to access other people's audiences.
Looking at Podcast Ads on other people's podcasts
Get out and network more - up your visibility game - because a lot of people might be going the other way.
Manage your mind and double down on your intentional thoughts because right now you don't want to be the biggest barrier in your business.
If you're looking for more support and accountability then join me in the Bold Business Academy and get the coaching, training & community you've been looking for!

Today on the podcast I'm talking about shifting your brand position.
When you're looking to shift your brand position there are few key things that you have to do, but I want to talk about what brand position is, the elements of brand positioning and then we'll talk about how to shift yours.
I talk about this in a number of my masterclasses and I give the example of a grey leather pull-string bag. I show 2. Both are grey, both are leather, both have metal hardware, and both look similar, but one bag is $199 from Country road and the other $3999 from Chanel.
The only real difference apart from some design elements.
Google says: A Brand positioning refers to the unique value that a brand presents to its customer. It is a marketing strategy brands create to establish their brand identity while conveying their value proposition, which is the reason why a customer would prefer their brand over others.

When it comes to creating sustainable cash flow in your business there are different strategies that you can use as well as 2 types of revenue you can plan on building in your business.
At the end of the day you want to create as much consistent income as you can and having different ways of getting it can make a big difference in your business.
Slow and steady cash
I think of slow and steady cash as delayed gratification. Slow cash can be things like a membership or subscription model that brings in reoccurring revenue. It could be little and often but it could add up to a lot. For example, if you have someone paying you $97 a month that's great, but if you have 100 people paying you $97 a month then that adds up to a lot.
Creating lower-priced products that might be on evergreen - which means that they can be bought all the time and just having those in the marketing mix of the things you talk about on a regular basis, having funnels on your website from opt-ins to those products or even running SLO - self-liquidating offers to them through ads.
It's about asking yourself the question - is there a way for me to get consistent reoccurring revenue? It could be through retainer clients as well or I've seen photographers who have subscription models.
I was coaching a client this week on potentially have a VIP day subscription option for clients who need a quarterly outcome that she provides.
I always talk about getting creative in your business and this is a great thing to think about and it's something that you can build up over time - years!
2. Fast cash
Now let's talk about fast cash.
Fast cash can look like - VIP Days, Pay in Full offers, Launches, and special offers. It's times when you may get a windfall or a larger amount of money in one go.
So planning out your calendar for these times can work really well from a cash flower perspective.
I plan out my 12-month calendar at the beginning of every year looking at launch dates, events, retreats, End of financial year offers that I may want to share.
You can also just get creative every quarter to think about what you could do to bring fast cash in. Is there an offer you can make based on an existing service that you offer?
If you want to learn how to manage your money and build creative offers that work with the market then be sure to check out the Bold Business Academy!
