Today on the podcast, I'm chatting with Nadine Nethery about the secret behind your best copy yet.
Nadine's an audience-driven copywriter and brand messaging strategist who helps smart online business owners turn every brand touchpoint into genuine connections that drive sales and create loyal brand advocates.
What's the secret behind writing copy that truly resonates with your audience? Nadine shared that it's all about leaning into your audience and really understanding them on a deeper level. It's not just about being a great writer; it's about having intentional conversations with your ideal clients and gathering insights that you can use to craft copy that speaks directly to them.
Here are some key takeaways from our chat:
Listen to your audience. Have genuine conversations with them to understand their dreams, desires, pain points, and false beliefs. This will give you a backstage pass to their minds and help you create copy that truly connects.
Adopt your audience's language in your messaging and copy. Use their words, phrases, and tangible transformations to make your copy stick and resonate on a deeper level.
Never stop narrowing things down. Keep refining your messaging as your business evolves and your audience's needs change. Stay in touch with your clients and gather fresh insights to keep your copy relevant and impactful.
Be smart about automating the process. Integrate strategic questions into your onboarding forms, surveys, and touch points throughout your customer journey. This way, you can gather valuable insights without adding more to your already full plate.
Nadine and I also talked about the importance of being authentic in your copy and leaning into your unique quirks. When you show up as your true self, you attract the right clients who connect with your personality and are eager to work with you.

Today on the podcast, I'm chatting with someone I've known and admired for a very long time - Sally Mackinnon from Style by Sally.
Sally has been an absolute icon in the Melbourne fashion and styling world for the past 17 years.
I used to have my own style blog back in the day when I was still working in corporate. I've always loved talking about fashion, beauty, and all things style-related. So I was super excited to have Sally on the show to dive into how she's grown her business and built a massive following of over 200K on Instagram.
Here are a few key takeaways from our chat:
Sally has stayed focused on her core styling services over the years - wardrobe edits, personal shopping, style consultations. Consistency is key! Figure out what you want to be known for and keep delivering.
COVID lockdowns were tough on Sally's in-person business, but gave her the time to start creating video content. This skyrocketed her growth and trust with her audience on Instagram.
Sally does ALL her own Instagram content creation and editing! Her feed is amazing and I was shocked to learn she doesn't have a social media team. Major kudos to Sally's commitment and creativity.
A big lesson Sally shared was to focus on being the best version of yourself and not get too hung up on comparing yourself to competitors. There is enough room for everyone - just keep showing up and serving your people!
I absolutely loved this honest and insightful conversation with Sally. She is the real deal and it's no wonder she's built such an incredible business and loyal community over the years.

In this episode, I'm talking about building a lean and clean business that's easy to manage and helps you sell more. I love diving into this topic because having a streamlined business gives you more time to focus on the things you enjoy most.
Key Takeaways:
Do a business audit: Take a critical look at your current products, services, freebies, and opt-ins. Assess what's working, what you enjoy doing, and what aligns with your goals. Don't be afraid to let go of things that no longer serve you or your business.
Streamline your messaging: Ensure your message connects on a deeper emotional level with your target audience. Share stories that illustrate why your core message matters and why you do what you do. Keep your language simple and easy to understand.
Have a solid marketing and sales strategy: Regularly share how people can work with you and why your offer is valuable. Focus your efforts on one product or service each month, creating content and energy around it across various platforms.
Systemise and automate your funnels: Streamline your marketing efforts by focusing on the platforms that align with your strengths and where your target audience is active. Consider automating parts of your top, middle, and bottom funnels to make your business more efficient.
I'm always excited to share my insights on building a streamlined business.

I had a conversation with a group of clients recently about hitting big goals and what it really takes to achieve them. It got me thinking about the gap between what we know and what we actually do in our businesses.
Here are my key takeaways from this episode:
We often look for new strategies and silver bullets, but the foundational strategies remain the same. If we implement them consistently, we'll see more success.
Many of us sit comfortably (and uncomfortably) in the knowledge-action gap, telling ourselves we don't know enough or need more time. But the real issue is often a lack of implementation.
Constantly comparing ourselves to others and thinking they have a secret sauce is a trap. The answer lies in completing the work and implementing what we already know.
If you've been in business for a while, you likely have the knowledge you need. It's about going back, finishing what you started, and being an implementer.
So, my challenge to you is to reflect honestly on your own knowledge-action gap. Are you in a procrastination habit that keeps you stuck? Have you made investments in your business that you haven't fully utilised?
Remember, we're not emotional toddlers - we're CEOs. It's up to us to show up, get the help we need, and do everything we can to achieve the success we want.

I wanted to dive into a conversation that I've been having a lot lately - honouring the time you block for yourself in your business. It's so important to treat your business like your best client and prioritise the work you need to do to grow and take it further.
I recently had a chat with a client who told me she blocks out time for herself and her projects, but then she moves them. Every single time. Sound familiar? I know a lot of people struggle with this.
When you do this, you're robbing your future self of the growth, revenue, and opportunities you want in your business. There will always be other things you can do, but are you actually investing the time to grow your business the way you want?
Here are a few questions to ask yourself:
How can you decide to make your business your best client? What would that look like?
How do you honor the commitments you make to yourself when you block time in your calendar? How do you hold that time and make sure you get projects done that will move your business forward?
How do you become your business's best brand ambassador? How are you showing up and making it easy to build your brand and connect with people?
How are you connecting with your audience in new, different ways and having conversations?
If you consistently treat your business as your best client and show up as your brand ambassador, I guarantee it will have a cumulative effect. People will remember you because they see you so often.
Let's make the decision today to invest time in our businesses and honour the commitments we make to ourselves. Our future selves will thank us!

I'm getting real with you today about client management and dealing with those sticky situations that can come up when working with clients. This is a topic that comes up a lot in my own community and in the masterclasses I've been teaching, so I thought I'd share my thoughts and experiences to help you out.
We're chatting about:
Getting clear on your ideal client and the type of person you want to work with. What are your non-negotiables and boundaries? Naming and claiming your audience is like a filter that helps you attract the right people from the start.
Having a solid vetting process in place. Ask meaningful questions in your discovery calls that help you determine if a client is a good fit. Things like their goals, budget, past experiences, and willingness to take action.
Setting expectations early and often. Communicating clearly how you work, what you need from the client, and what they can expect from you. Putting it in writing and make sure you're constantly reiterating it throughout the relationship.
Being the leader in the relationship. You're the expert and it's up to you to guide the client and the project. Create a roadmap, set milestones, and keep them on track.
Working with clients you love and who are a great fit for you and your biz is the goal. It makes the whole process so much more fun and enjoyable. So take the time to set yourself up for success from the start.

Today, I want to dive into a topic that I absolutely love talking about - creating higher level thinking. This is something I discuss with my Amplify Mastermind clients and it's all about pushing yourself to think bigger, develop unique thought leadership, and come up with your own concepts and ideas that challenge your clients' thinking.
If you've been in business for a while and want to be seen as a leader in your industry, it's crucial to keep evolving your thinking and how you talk about what you do. Constantly learning and growing is key to differentiating yourself and standing out from the crowd.
We're chatting about:
Constantly evolving your thinking and how you talk about what you do to differentiate yourself.
Using the seven pillars of thought leadership to develop higher level thinking.
Asking yourself what you've learned and heard that's new, and how you can bring it together uniquely.
I believe that the more you create, the more you're able to create. It's like exercising a muscle - if you don't use it, it gets weaker. But if you're always curious about what you do and how you talk about it, you'll keep evolving in the market.

Today, I want to talk about something that's been on my mind lately - comparison-itis. You know, that feeling when you're scrolling through social media and you start comparing yourself to others? Yeah, we've all been there.
The other day, I shared a reel about money management and someone left a comment saying that they don't look at their financials because they always end up comparing themselves to others. That got me thinking about how comparison can really kill your business (and your joy).
First off, I want to say that comparing ourselves to others is totally natural, especially when we're working in the digital space. We're constantly seeing what everyone else is doing online. But here's the thing - if we don't deal with comparison quickly and intentionally, it can seriously damage our confidence and hold us back from growing our businesses.
So, what can we do about it?
We're chatting about a few things that have helped me:
Acknowledging the comparison
Curating your space
Focusing on your own journey
We get to choose what we consume and how we react to it. So, let's be intentional about catching those comparison thoughts and replacing them with proactive, positive ones.
