This week we're talking about 3 things to think about if you want to move from a done-for-you to a done-with-you model or a mixed business model.
I know that it's something that a lot of business owners who have been around for a while want to do - so let's talk about it!
Having worked with OBM's, copywriters, brand designers, agency owners, and website site creators to move from done for you to a mixed model is something that I love to do.
At the end of the day any new business or product can take time to build, so having a timeframe for starting to shift your business makes sense.
We're talking about 3 key things to ask yourself and think about when making the move.

Today we're having an honest conversation about business. Some people might disagree but this is something that I've found to be true for me being in the business, brand and sales world for over 25 years.
The harder you work, the more success you can have.
So often we get into business and we see other people doing it and it seems easy. You start a business and you show up online and then you get customers. Then you get into business and you realise that it's not that easy.
I was thinking about this recently when I was reflecting on a few clients that I've worked with this year and it's neither good nor bad, it's just an observation and I'm going to say it's an observation on my own business as well. It's what I'm calling the Levels of Strategic Action to Results Measure or SAR Measure.
But before I share the SAR Measures or levels that I see after working with and coaching people for over 20 years, there is a story that I hear Alex Harmosi share.
He said that when he was starting his business, he had a mentor and the mentor told him to put flyers out to get the name of his gym out there. So Alex went and printed 300 flyers and distributed them and nothing really happened. He called his mentor and say - this doesn't work, and his mentor said what did you do. He told him - I've put out 300 flyers. His mentor said you test with 5000 then you put out 5000 a day after that or 150,000 flyers a month.
Alex said- I realised that I may have been doing the right thing all along, I was just doing too little of it. We do things for too short, too little and not enough time and wonder why something isn't working and that's where the Strategic Action Levels come in.
So let's break it down and this is going to be dependent on your business, what you do, the uniqueness of it, but I still think that these are 90% of the time true.
Level 0 - The hobby or doing it just for fun - Your business is a bicycle
This could be a hobby
A side hustle that's just for fun
You're making a bit of money and happy with that.
Level 1 - The Slow Burn - You're driving a 2nd hand everyman brand car
You have some sales coming in but you're still trying to work out your sales process
You might be in your business full-time, but you're just ticking along and just getting started
You're going from $0 - $50/$80k.
It's paying the bills and you might be paying yourself a bit but it feels tight.
You're trying to manage your mind because you didn't realise it was going to be this hard and that you were going to have to learn so many new things
You potentially can't afford support right now, but you would love to have some help.
You're learning how to manage your money in the best way but still trying to work it out.
Level 2 - The Flow - You're driving a luxury brand but it's an older model
The mid-range action taker - you're consistent and it's going well but not everything is the way you want - still things to fix and set up
You might be hitting $100-$250k
You're full-time in your business, you're busy doing some of the key things.
You've got solid foundations and clients coming to you but
You know that you could be making things better, and more efficient but you haven't focused on fixing those problems or it's on the to-do list.
Level 3 - The Pro - You're driving a luxury brand car current model
You're at the $300-$900k level
You're in flow and you know exactly what needs to happen and when.
Your business is doing what you want it to do, you have great systems
You have a team and strategies in place and you're sharing content regularly that is getting you the clients that you want.
You have funnels in place that are working for you
You understand and have a full view of your metrics so that you can make informed decisions
You have a brand, marketing, and sales strategy and you're working with those with a clear growth plan
Now it's about scaling in a bigger way and handing things over to others who do it better while you build and grow your brand.
Level 4 - The Power Player - You have a driver or a private jet (Alex Harmozi/Amy Porterfield level)
You are the talent and you have a team that runs your business for you with you leading the charge.

Let's talk about some failures today.
Before we dive in, there are a few things that I want to share about failing.
Whilst I don't want to fail, I'm not scared of it.
I know that to grow any business is going to take a lot of failing so I'm okay with it. I think where I draw the line is not having massive fails.
So I don't take huge risks. I take small risks often and if things start to work out or seem to be working out then I'll go bigger.
But there are 2 people that I think about when it comes to failing.
Sarah Blakely from Spanx shares the story that her dad used to ask her and her brother every day what they had failed at, because if they hadn't failed then they hadn't tried something new.
Economies of fail which Steven Bartlett from Diary of a CEO talks about. He shares a story about a father and son who worked together in a big business. The father had one business and the son had the other. The son would jump on things that Steven suggested they tried and they would fail a lot but when something worked it worked so well and went so viral that it counteracted any of the failures. The father would take the suggestion, sit on it, ask a lot of people and then by the time he has decided that he might want to try it, and by then it would be too late and the opportunity would have passed.
So if you're not failing at some things in your business then maybe you're not trying enough new things. haha
Let's talk about one of my fails, because friend I've had a lot and I'm okay with that.
One that I've been kicking myself for a while about is - a few years ago the business was booming. I had loads of clients, I was doing $50-$80k months with a few $100k months thrown in there and 2 things happened I will be sure don't happen again.
I got complacent. We weren't marketing or running ads so list building slowed down and I just took things for granted that it would always be that good. Like I was riding the high and I had made it. But as we know - what goes up must come down!
The 2nd thing that happened is because I had a lot of clients I had a bit of brain fail. When I was trying to create content I was thinking about my current clients and everything that I was working with them on and so when it came to creating content my brain kept telling me - no they know that - because obviously I was teaching my current clients my strategies - so I wasn't sharing content that was building new followers and new leads.

I was recently listening to a podcast that inspired this episode. I was listening to Diary of a CEO with the Air BnB founder, Brian Chesky talking about the fact that have to keep refounding our business, and it kind of hit me.
As founders and business owners and one way to think about it is, are we refounding and rebuilding our business all the time to keep up with what's happening in the market? We have to make time for innovating, getting inspired, and staying on top of things so that we can keep growing our business.

Today on the podcast we're talking about how you can realign and re-energise your business.
When things get hard, it's really easy to get into scarcity, fix it and hustle mode. That's what we're going to work together to get out of today!
There are a few little exercises that I'm going to be sharing with you that have helped me to create a circuit breaker and get out of scarcity or negative thinking and helped me to re-energise why I'm, here and what I'm doing.
So we're talking about
Coming and creating from a place of deep gratitude. I'm sharing an exercise that I learned at the recent Tony Robbins events I attended and how it's now something I'm doing regularly.
Really thinking about what you want your business to look like and what you're trying to create right now in this moment.
Ask yourself - What is the movement you want to create?
Ask yourself - What is the message you want to put out there?
If things were working well what would be happening?
I get super clear on those things and then start thinking about - what would I need to be thinking and doing to make that happen.
Are you in a profitable thought loop or a broke thought loop?
How can you make your momentum building more fun and enjoyable when you do it from a place of ease and flow?
This is something that I'm going to encourage you to do every quarter to clear the cobwebs and reignite your passion and focus in your business.

I have a belief - that you get what you expect.
If you expect to get a table at the cafe, then you'll most likely do that you need to make that happen.
If you expect that clients will come to you then you'll probably show up so that they know where to find you.
If you don't expect any of that, then in turn you'll probably not show up and do what's required.
That's what we're talking about on today's episode - expecting more for yourself so that you can get those results.
